Full Circle Fibres is now a B Corp. – what on earth does this mean?

Certified B Corporations, or B Corps, are companies verified by B Lab to meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. The B stands for benefit.

B Corps are committed to balancing purpose and profit. They form a movement transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet.

It took us nearly a year to complete – and we wouldn’t change that. If a certification is going to mean something, then there must be some rigour.

Our approach from the beginning has been to have line of sight through our supply chain, and to know every single stage of the journey, and in doing this, working fairly and justly from ‘paddock to product.’ Implicitly designing this in is one thing, extrapolating the impacts and benefits is a bit trickier. We chose B Corp as the holistic approach to our entire business fits with the ethos of the B Corp community, no matter what industry or sector we are in, we are all working on doing things for more than money, knowing certification is just the start.

The process has been rewarding, the resources available to everyone, in any business. The impact assessment tool kit is available to all, you only have to pay at the point of submitting that for assessment. This powerful approach means anyone can go in and explore what’s involved, rate their enterprise and begin this journey to more a more shared and just community, taking care of the only planet we have.
